DESCRIPTION:

Pigeon peas are now grown and enjoyed worldwide as one of the better quality nutrition sources in the bean family. Treated just like a bean, and known simply as “Tree Bean” in Taiwan, this perennial bush plays an important role in our polyculture farms.

Used many ways in many cultures, our favorite way is to soak and germinate the seeds prior to cooking, making the seed more digestible and thus having a greater benefit to our bodies. Pigeon peas can be used in sauces, curries, soups, stews, baked, fried etc. So many uses it’s hard to know where to start.
