Long Pepper

DESCRIPTION:

Long pepper is an amazingly flavorful, interestingly shaped pepper. Closely related to white and black pepper, this was the pepper of commerce before the little round peppercorns came around to the west. Due to the plants growing as a ground cover, rather than climbing upwards, the yields are quite a bit smaller than that of regular peppercorns. The taste is quite intense with a spicier than normal peppery taste with an added, almost fruity, component. This is one of our favorite spices to work with!
