Description: Formosan quinoa, Chenopodium formosanum, is a species of quinoa native to Taiwan and grown extensively by the aboriginal peoples of the island. Used in all the same ways as the more globalized South American species, the seeds are finer and create a softer texture when cooked. Locally they are used in any number of dishes and deserts as well as local alcohols.
