DESCRIPTION:

Bay leaves are generally used dry and whole, though crushed leaves are also used. Most often, the hard leaves are not eaten and so whole leaves are preferred as they are easier to remove. Used in all manners of cooking from rice to soup.

Menthol. Cook in a liquid for flavor to come out. When cooked for long tines (like for stews and curries), different flavors become present having a more earthy flavor.
